Mel Brinkley is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). She works with clients in all walks of life, including children ages 9 and older, adolescents, and adults of all ages. She walks alongside individuals who have experienced trauma (including sexual, physical, emotional, and combat-related trauma), homelessness, depression or anxiety, grief and bereavement, stress and life changes, or relationship issues and divorce.


Her general approach to therapy is a blend of Reality Therapy (RT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Mel is currently working on her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and is dedicated to lifelong learning. When not working on her dissertation, Mel enjoys spending time with her family and cattle dogs on their small homestead, traveling, and being outdoors.
